In employment what is the confirmation of "employability" by Occupational Health dept mean?
I just been offered a job subject to references and confirmation of the ability to work. Does the 'fitness part work means that I will have to undergo a medical examination or is it something else?
You will be required to have medical examinations at their designated physician health. This can occur for more than one reason, when completing your application, you mentioned some may past (or present) medical condition and they need reassurance that it will not affect your ability to do the job. The other main reason is there are some in May demanding physical appearance or perhaps something very stressful. It is also quite common for them to require an examination when a person is re-entering the workforce after a period of convalescence, etc. There is nothing to fear and is just a normal overall physical check.
