Is it just delusional to blame Republicans for the health care reform bill not passing?
Seriously the Democrats have a super majority in the house and had 60 votes in the senate, so how can they blame this one on the Republicans? Name me one vote the Republicans won on their own? I thought it was moderate democrats that were directly responsible for stalling health care.
Let the personel attacks begin.
Justagr- If it were not for the blue dogs the bill would have passed long ago..fact. Maybe you need to actually do some research.
The health bill hasn’t come up for the final vote yet. Its following the usual progress of committees, votes and amendments in both houses, adjustments, votes again in both houses. The problem is the potential willingness to filibuster and hold up all work in congress. That is how the minority stalls the majority.
The loss of the 60 votes won’t mean the end of reform, unless the Reps decide to filibuster, and if they do, it will go on forever. Its not personal at all, in fact a few Republicans are in favor publicly, but they can’t vote for it on the floor or they will lose the financial support the national R party offers. They do tend to vote in a very party line manner. Surely not all of them feel exactly alike, at least not without a lot of arm twisting.
Whereas Democrats are all over the place ideologically and are not homogenized. They are everything from Blue Dog conservative, to moderate, to far left, and they stick to it, no great suck it up for the party feeling among them.
