Are the effects of smoking the same?
Hi,
I’ve started smoking in september but I quit two weeks ago. I smoked 2 cigarettes a day, 3 tops. I would like to now if I have to wait 15 years to have the same chances of having lung cancer that a non smoker?

PS: I smoke one cigar a week, does this affect my health as well?
You didn’t smoke long enough to do any lasting damage. The lungs are amazing at repairing themselves. One cigar per week is probably ok, but there’s still a slim chance of oral cancer with any use of tobacco. If you can do without it, I say none at all is best.
