Swine flu – coming soon?
The details in the news about the swine flu outbreak do not make sense to me. Mexico City is basically shut down now. Schools, churches, and many public gathering places are shut down. Any one out in public is wearing surgical masks. But the reports say only 1200 cases, and only 20 confirmed deaths.
Two confirmed cases have been confirmed outside of San Antonio Texas, no deaths, but today it was announced that the ENTIRE SCHOOL DISTRICT these two students attended is CLOSED for at least a week, and public health officials are warning all students to stay inside their homes.
Is the Federal Government about to take complete control of people’s movements, and forcibly quarantining people? The news down plays the threat, but somebody is taking it VERY seriously!
Actually we have had 20 outbreaks here in San Antonio all in one area of the city. Those are the schools that are closed this week. The CDC is taking it seriously and trying to make sure that there is plenty of vaccinations to go around just in case. I wouldn’t say that there’s a panic just yet. Of course I would definately stay away from Mexico right now.
