For Parents, Am I too involved with my nieces and nephew?
I have no children of my own. I retired at 36, due to health issues. So I have a lot of free time, energy, and am very opinionated. I try not to interfere in the way my sibs are raising their kids and be supportive of their styles. But I keep introducing the kids to ideas and activities I think they should know about based on their IQs and personalities. I research online for games, toys, fashion, books, useful learning sites, health issues. So far no one has told me to back off.
You know they indulge you because you have no kids. Look for the tiny cringes or shoulder twitches that happen when people are doing their best to put up with someone. Then again maybe they all love you to bits.
