Suicide if I can’t change this life?
Recently I have been considering suicide because i’ve been overwhelmed with money and social issues. I don’t believe I am depressed. I’m 19 and my mother wants me to move out but I just quit my job and it’s been hard for me to find another. I feel as if she sees me as a failure. I also don’t have a social life what so ever and people just aren’t attracted to my personality no matter how pleasant I am. I have no hope in things getting better and I haven’t had good times since early childhood. Sometimes I question my purpose here on earth.
But I am scared that any method of suicide will be painful and I don’t want to regret it. I know life is a precious gift and I’m apprecative of my good health but I am not happy at all. I wish I could be someone else. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. (please NO HOTLINE #s or psychiatric referrals)
You are in an uncomfortable position, but you should not be thinking about ending it all. Just one simple event could change the rest of your life into the most wonderful thing you could ever hope for. You are not a failure by any means. At 19 you are just beginning life. Get out and meat people, not necessarily by going to bars, but ny joining a club of some kind; a reading club, a photography club, a sport club, darts, bowls, bowling, anything; take up martial arts. There are plenty of opportunities for you to meet people. If you want to find a job, then I’ll give you one very good piece of advice which will help, all good business people have one thing in common; they are all extremely good liers. Employers hardly ever check the contents of a CV, so just put anything on it. Falsely claiming qualifications is a no no, but you can have experience in just about anything you want, so long as you’re sensible. If you feel that your mum is being unreasonable, sit down with her and ask her for some advice about what she wants and try to come to some arrangement. It’s easy to tell somebody to go to the doctors for some tablets, I’ve done it often enough on this thing myself, but I don’t really think your position warrents that advice. There really are many things that you could be doing each day, to help yourself, that don’t need money; simply going for a walk each day will help. Visit your local shop/store and find telephone numbers of groups meating in your area. I’m sure that you mum will help out if she sees that you really are trying to improve things for yourself.
