So can you list some healthy snacks or meals to make?
And how can I make myself drink more water?
My mom wont help me im on my own. Im turning 17 in March.
And how can I push myself to exercise?

And other question:
How can I talk to my mom and get her to listen? And how can I convience her that after I turn 17 I have a year left til im an adult and I should be able to make some decisions?
Please and Thank you

Well, I got a smack in the face, when I was told that I am a diabetic, after all of these years of not exercising and pushing the limit on junk food.

The best advice I can give you is hard, but avoid anything white. foods that have sugar, flour (white or brown), rice (white or brown), and potatoes.

There is a DUMMY Book out there called “The Glycemic Index Diet For Dummies” that is full of a wealth of information about eating low glycemic foods. If everyone would do this, then Diabetes would reduce drastically. Just following the healthy advice in this book and walking for 3- minutes to an hour each day, I lost 32 pounds in three months.

Walking is about as healthy an exercise that you can do. you don’t have to be a power walker and it is something you can start with just ten minutes a day. Buy yourself a good pedometer, some good walking shoes and gradually build yourself up to 10,000 steps a day. That means you will eventually be walking about 5 miles. find a buddy who will walk with you and the time will fly! Wear your pedometer ALL of the time. All steps count, even those to the refrigerator.lol. You may be surprised, at the end of the day just how many (or how many you didn’t) steps you walked.

Catch your mom when she isn’t real busy and just tell her that you have some concerns . Ask her if she could just sit down with you over a glass of milk and calmly discuss these things. She may not warm up at first, but if you keep your cool and don’t get bent out of shape, if you don’t get what you want, she may still come around. But if you throw a temper fit, she is going to assume you still aren’t grown up enough. If you can ask her for what you need and then ask her if you can revisit the conversation in a few weeks, that shows to her that you are growing up and that maybe you are ready to accept some responsibility.

It isn’t easy for moms or dads to allow their children to grow up. But start acting more like an adult, help her around the house, surprise her with little things like throwing dinner on the table or cleaning up the dishes without being asked….Like is a give and take thing.

Good luck and I hope you get some more advice that you can glean from and help you with the decisions that you are making.
