CONGRESS CAN be reformed?
Anyone with a thimble-full of political meaning can easily determine that there no way to fix unless the American influence of money is removed from the political process. Any other plan is above all a big waste of time for all, if we do not like all citizens supporters, regardless of religion, political or other beliefs, the rise and demand to the elimination of corruption from the sea to shining sea views.
Nothing better illustrates this need that the current crop pawns malfeasant companies we represent. Since Democrats took control of Congress in January 2007, neither party has done something unique, we the people need clearly and want.
What is there a law on the minimum wage was more than ten years too late and many dollars too low, lack of health care costs of education, poverty, deteriorating infrastructure, unemployment and homelessness have all dramatically increased since then. Rather than keeping campaign promises, Democrats have instead engaged in eternal bend-over political charades.
Under their supervision, Congress has increased rather than reduced staff and funding for the war, signed further our rights and disappear quickly, helped mega-media companies to gobble up ever-increasing share of radio and television airwaves which supposedly belong to us the public. And beginning in 2008, our so-called "representatives" have begun to sell our children's future to a no-strings-attached, Golden River Plateau bailout unprecedented corporate malfeasance.
Because the case the position of the Supreme Court will always be the case, said any way to eliminate corruption reforms "unconstitutional," the only way to get rid the influence of money is the waist by a constitutional amendment. attempts by other methods of reform have left a long historic Trail of Tears any frustration and defeat. The rhetoric of reform of the half-measure that does manage to make its way into law quickly killed by the highest court false pretense of defending the Constitution.
We need an amendment making it punishable by life imprisonment without parole for any organization or group of persons of any kind for any reason, to contribute a penny or anything of greater value, a small town applicant city Council Office on up to president of the United States. And we need to limit individual contributions to 1% of gross income per candidate per year, including candidates themselves with about $ 480 in 2009 dollars.
To obtain a license to broadcast on what is theoretically "the people" waves, we require all radio and television to give equal free airtime to candidates "qualified"; qualifications determined by obtaining enough signatures of registered voters, the amount determined by the office and the number of people represented.
And we need to eliminate the electoral college, each elected by popular vote, hold all party primaries on the same date and require a verifiable paper trail. There are a lot of tweaking needed for the amendment proposed here, but this outline sketch is sufficient to grasp the basic idea.
No law will eliminate corruption, but what is suggested here would eliminate many over 90% of the current problem and allow the majority of we the people really have a voice.
Is that the bottom feeding miscreant corporate puppet-juvenile delinquency damned treason Congress never be removed and placed in federal prison where they belong? You decide.
