Hi! They dont always do good with other animals, but some will, it all depends on the rabbit. Either way, be sure to introduce them slowly and never leave them alone without supervision. Any cage with a wire bottom is cruel. It will give them a condition called Sore Hock. So any wire bottoms are bad! They need at least 2×4 cage, but thats small in my opinion. Im building a 5×12 for my two. Id suggest not buying a store bought cage, but making a NIC condo. Check out the website below for pictures. You can buy the grids at bed-bath-and-beyond, walmarts web site, however ones from targets have to big of openings. Care fresh is what I used with one bunny. But it got to be too expensive. Now I use Equi-litter. Its a horse stall bedding (like wood stove pellets, but its safe) that you can get at a farm/horse/feed store. No one here on answers ever believes that is safe, but I know it is, dont worry. Veggies are a yes, fruit is a no. They need veggies everyday, my two get 8 cups of veggies a day together. They have very sensitive digestive tracts, so introduce only one at a time. Wait about a week before they get anything new, so you know that their systems arent negatively affected. Fruits are a treat only! Two a week at most. The size being about the size of your thumb nail. Other treats (store bought treats) are not usually good. Anything with seeds in the ingredients is a no-no. The pet store business is just trying to make money, its not good for them. Either are salt and mineral blocks. They dont need them, they should get everything they need out of their pellets and veggies. Check out the site for a list of veggies and fruits that are safe. A good pellets is Oxbow! Thats what mine eat and ill never feed them anything different. But anything with color pieces, seeds (anything but straight pellets) are bad. Again the store is trying to make money and sell it because it looks better to us, but its not. The rabbit will pick out the colorful pieces and leave the rest. They will be overweight and not as healthy then. They need at least 3 hours of play time, again mine get more. The hay is the most important thing in the diet. Alfalfa is only for babies (under 7 months) and timothy is over 7 months. The adult bunnies (over 7 months) can also have orchard, meadow and brome hay. Things they like, toys etc: craft sticks soaked in apple juice, willow toys, plastic baby toys, polar fleece blankets, rugs, plastic cat toys, baby rings(links), phone books( i promise its safe) and well washed plastic laundry soap caps.
