What insurance providers in NY cover trans care?
Alright, right now I’m getting state funded health insurance (finally). I want to start therapy up again, but am unsure as to which companies will cover me.
My choices are: HIP, United Health Care, Fidelis, and Affinity Health Plan.
Does one have a better record with trans-people? Any of these stand out as being horrible for trans-people?
(I know a similar question was asked recently, but I have more specific information)
I was thinking more so as therapy and hormones. My current job does not provide health care, and I am trying to get a new job.
Insurance does not cover trans care..I have United Health Care
I have insurance from work that I am able to use for therapy. My therapist is the one who got the sessions approved. If u have a trans group that u know of ask them what therapist they like. That is how I found mine.
U may also be able to find a top surgery doctor who will classify top surgery as a breast reduction. (I am in the process of looking for one my self)
And some insurance companies cover hysterectomies as well.
