Who out there is for a simple, single-payer national health care plan (socialized medicine)?
Our free-market, capitalist system of health care DOES NOT WORK. It stinks. Millions of Americans are without health insurance because they can’t afford it. Alot of businesses go belly-up because of health-care costs. Even the ones that stay in business are having to let people go and find other ways of cost-cutting because the costs of their health care plans to their employees are putting a strain on their budget.
The point is, our system of “health care” here in the USA does not work. Socialized medicine does, such as in Canada, the European countries and every other industrialized nation in the world.
We do not have a free market health care system. It has been gamed by the Insurance companies (can’t blame them -they keep 40% of my premium money) and the pharmaceuticals.
Single payer is not Socialized medicine. It simply replaces a very inefficent claims processing system with an efficient system (Medicare spends roughtly 5% of the premium $ to process claims).
